In line with the celebration of the 44th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week, Persons with Disability Affairs Action Officer and Valenzuela City 2nd District Councilor Niña Lopez, addressed the participants of the Sensitivity Disability Training organized by City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), and Department of Education (DepEd) Valenzuela, August 4, 2022. The seminar were participated in by Valenzuela Public Schools Guidance Counselors, Guidance Coordinators and PWD Homecare Volunteers. The National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) Chief Information, Education and Communication and event speaker Ms. Gian Carla D. Neyra educate the participants of the Disability Sensitivity Training on basic sign language and other techniques on ways one can communicate with a person with hearing impairment. She stated that sign language should be a basic skill that everyone knows. NCDA is the national government agency assigned to coordinate the activities of all agencies, whether public or private, concerning disability issues and concerns. Organized by City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), and Department of Education (DepEd) Valenzuela. The disability sensitivity training put on a mini workshop on ways to assist individuals that are visually challenged or full-on blind during the Disability Sensitivity Training, August 4, 2022. The participants were shown methods on climbing the stairs, sitting, and opening the door, problems that blind people face in their daily lives. Alternative text (alt text) is a text-based description added to an image that can benefit people who are blind and have low-vision.
